When should I oil or condition my glove? Oil and condition your glove when the leather appears dry or lighter in color. Leather loses its natural oils with use and needs to be rehydrated to prevent drying, cracking, and stiffness.
Should I oil or condition my glove? If the glove is very dried out, it will need to be oiled first, then conditioned to restore the leather. If the glove is regularly maintained, you can just condition it without using oil.
Does my brand new glove need to be oiled or conditioned? Typically, new leather does not need to be oiled or conditioned. However, if you want to speed up the break-in process, you can use oil to soften the leather, keeping in mind this may darken the color.
